Sunward Roller-bit Hole Drill Rig Sets New Monthly Drilling Record of 140,709 Feet
The General Manager of the Sunward mining department recently awarded Andre and his team of Drill operators an award at Sunward headquarters for drilling a new monthly drilling record of
140,709 Feet (42,888 meters) with the Sunward SWDRT 250.
The operators said that “The Sunward’s equipment efficiency allowed them to surpass any other Drill Rig’s capability making it possible for them to achieve this new record.” During the visit to the Sunward headquarters they expressed gratitude for the Sunward engineers and also provided valuable suggestions to the R&D team for future Drilling Rig improvements.
Sunward’s SWDRT250 roller-bit hole drill Rig set this new record in May 2004, surpassing its previous record of 103,405 feet (31,518 meters). The SWDRT250 offers a drilling diameter of 7.5” to 10” (200-250mm) and a depth of up to 158 feet (48,000mm), featuring high axial pressure, high torque, high rotation speed, and a large diameter. It uses dual-pressure or low-pressure air compressors for efficiency and environmental protection and has an electro-hydraulic control system for automatic parameter adjustment. Its three-point floating leveling chassis and high-strength truss drill frame ensure reliability, and it supports both roller cone and down-the-hole hammer drilling modes.
The SWDRT250 demonstrates reliability and adaptability in challenging conditions, ensuring stable operation and project progress. This achievement highlights Sunward’s product quality and technological innovation, solidifying its leading position in the drilling equipment industry.
